I'm the breeder behind Doodles of West Chester located in West Chester, OH. We are pet owners first and foremost. All of our puppies are raised as members of our family until they’re ready to join yours. With total care, we prioritize breeding healthy, affectionate, and loyal companions. Our efforts are aimed at ensuring our puppies will seamlessly fit into your family and bring immense joy to your life, just as they have to ours!

Our Program

PREGNANCY & WHELPING CARE

At Doodles of West Chester our dams are given the best care throughout their pregnancy. From vet visits, extra nutrition, and more, our Moms are well prepared to bring their puppies into the world. Once their due date approaches Moms are integrated into their whelping area. At this point they receive daily massages and grooming care. During whelping our moms receive delivery assistance as needed.

What we do with the puppies in our care from Day 3 to Week 8 

ENS & ESI

Once puppies are born into the world here at Doodles of West Chester we begin ENS (early neurological stimulation) and ESI (early scent introduction) at 3 days old. This is performed on days 3-16, including gentle handling and daily weights. ENS is known to improve cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to disease. ESI improves nose awareness and confidence.

10 STEP HANDLING

At 3 weeks old we move into a more advanced curriculum with our puppies set forth by Jeanette Forrey with 4E Kennels. We begin a “10 step puppy massage” every day and increase pressure weekly. We use our 10 step handling exercises to ensure our puppies are exposed to various types of touch, handling and sensation. This includes eyes, nose, inside mouth, around the collar, tummy, down back, pull tail, tug on ears, and tapping nails.

CURRICULUM

At 3 weeks we also begin socializing our puppies to different sounds, sights, textures, things to climb on, run through and more. We believe in empowering over enabling our puppies. We set them up to conquer physical and mental challenges every day. By doing this we build our puppies nerve strength and confidence as well as problem solving skills. Our goal is to provide our puppies with a stable and enriching environment for the first 8 weeks of their lives.

TEMPERAMENT TESTING

At 7 weeks of age we conduct a puppy aptitude test on each individual puppy set forth by the BAB Program. During the test we focus on 12 important puppy temperament traits to help make sure you get a puppy that fits you, your lifestyle and your needs as well as honoring who the puppy is. Once temperament testing and vet checks are completed families will be able to see scorecards of each puppy in order for them to make the right decision for their family. Picks are made in order of a family's place on the waitlist on go home day.

A LIFETIME OF SUPPORT

As a responsible, ethical breeder, I NEVER want my puppies to end up in a shelter. When you buy a puppy from me, you are becoming part of my extended "family," and as such, I will always be here to offer any support I can. If at any time you find yourself unable to care for your puppy, you will need to contact me and I will take your puppy back.  At that time, I will find an appropriate home for him or her! And if you find yourself nee a sitter when you are out of town. I would love to watch them for you. I offer a discount price for Doodles of West Chester pups! I am also always available to answer questions, talk you through, or offer prayer!  I also love to get updates, just because!!
